Letter L: Lamb Craft, Guess the Color Lamb Poem, Color the Lambs (Day 3)

1) Choose one of the following options for a lamb craft:
  1. Use a permanent marker to draw a lamb on the non-sticky side of contact paper
  2. Hide cotton balls around the room (or place them in a bowl in front of your child).
  3. Have your child find the cotton balls and glue them onto your lamb.

  1. Use while chalk to draw around your child's hand on black construction paper.
  2. Cut out the hand and use your finger to smear glue all over the lamb's body.
  3. Have your child place cotton balls or oatmeal on the glue.
(picture to come)

2) Colored Lamb Activities: Print a set of Colored Lambs (from besttoys4toddlers) for these activities.
  • Read "Where's the Green Sheep?" (we love this book!) from our Letter L Booklist while using the colored lambs.
  • While reading this poem, have your child guess which colored lamb comes next.
Can you guess the color of our first lamb?
It's the color of yummy, strawberry jam.
(red lamb)

The sky above and the ocean, too,
The next lamb is the color ... blue!

The stars and moon shine brightly at night,
The next lamb is the color ... white!

The next lamb is a jolly fellow,
It's the color of sunshine, the color ... yellow!

Frogs, grass and pickles you've seen
The next lamb is the color ... green!

Dark licorice in a sack,
Can you guess which lamb? It's the color ... black!

Grapes are this lambs favorite to eat,
Can you guess the color of his favorite treat?
(purple)

Goldfish swimming in the sea,
The lamb exclaims, "he's the color as me!"
(orange)

3) Color the Lambs from Making Learning Fun:

  • Print the worksheet below and set out the same colors of crayons on a table.
  • Read the colors to your children, and have them find the matching crayon to color the lamb.
