This lesson is from " The Birth of Jesus Christ (Christmas) " from the current Sunbeams Manual. Prayer: Attention Activity: Show newborn pictures (I showed one of each child and we guessed who they were) and talk about the births of your children. Focus of the Week: Our theme series focuses on one letter, one shape and one color each week. I put together and printed this printable  mostly for my two. I hung it in our craft room and would often point to the letter, shape and color for him to identify throughout the week. November Themes: My boys (ages 2, 4) go to preschool twice a week, so I planned our activities for the off days - Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I printed a monthly chart (link to come) as a way to keep organized and stay on track. However, some weeks we just do activities as we go. Here's the first week at a glance: MONDAY : Color Activity (Feather Turkey): After coloring a turkey coloring page, we glued feathers onto the turkey's tail. These Magic Treasure Hearts are sure to wow you kids. Especially when the hearts start foaming and later melt to find a treasure gem inside! I found this idea from  Fun at Home with Kids , and used a heart mold instead of star to go along with our service theme this week. Here's what you need: Heart Mold 1/4 Baking Soda (per color) 1 teaspoon liquid watercolors (per color) 1 teaspoon water (per color) Treasures Vinegar Dish Soap - we used blue dawn Directions: 1) Mix baking soda, liquid watercolors and water in a bowl. It takes a minute of stirring to come together. It will be a thick paste. Fill one heart mold up 1/3 the way and place a treasure in the mold before filling the remaining heart (see the purple heart below). Fill all the hearts and place mold in the freezer overnight. 2) When you're ready to play, fill your bin with a shallow amount of vinegar - you don't want the vinegar to be higher than the stars. Squirt in a couple teaspoons

Here's the first week at a glance: MONDAY : Shape (Secret Service Agent): Making secret service letter hearts were my boys favorite part of the week! My four and two used dot markers to decorate this heart printable . Afterward, we cut out the hearts and wrote "From: Secret Service Agent". We talked about the importance of doing nice things for people and how the heart is a symbol of love. Throughout the week, my boys
