Letter H: Build Humpty Dumpty's Wall, H is for Humpty Dumpty, Humpty's Dumpty's Fall Activity, Humpty's Colored Hats Story (Day 5)

1) Build Humpty Dumpty's Wall from Preschool Alphabet:
  • Building Blocks
  • Raw Eggs - Optional: Draw faces on the eggs to resemble Humpty
  • Cookie Sheet or Container
  1. Build a high wall from building blocks - build the wall over a cookie sheet or some sort of container to catch poor Humpty.
  2. Count the blocks as you go. Watch the difference between Humpty cracking from a short wall and tall wall.
  3. Sing Humpty Dumpty (from our Letter H Music Time) and when you say "Humpty Dumpty had a great fall", let your child roll Humpty off the wall. I can't wait to watch Easton's reaction!

2) H is for Humpty Dumpty from Making Learning Fun: Use dot markers, circle magnets, pom poms or bingo chips to fill in the dots.

3) Humpty Dumpty's Fall Craft from Preschool Alphabet:
  • Cut a large oval shape from a piece of white card stock.
  • Draw or glue on Humpty Dumpty pieces (all except for the broken egg parts - link from Tot Schooling) onto your oval. Place your Humpty on a fireplace or window sill. I sure hope Humpty Dumpty doesn't fall off!
  • Sometime in the day, cut Humpty into pieces and lay him on the ground. Your child will wonder how this happened! Help put him back together again with bandaids.

4) Humpty Dumpty's Colored Hats from Teaching Mama:
  • Read the story (from the link provided) as you place a different colored hat on Humpty Dumpty.
  • Draw Humpty Dumpty on a piece of yellow felt and glue him onto a manilla folder (if you'd like a sturdier back)
  • Cut out hats from pieces of felt.
