Letter G: G is for Garbage Truck Pack, Garbage Stamping, Garbage Throw, Garbage Truck Math, Garbage Bag Windsock (Day 5)

1) Garbage Truck, Garbage Truck, What Do You See? by Speech Chicks: Read this darling little book together. I know Easton will love all the trucks in this book. Have your child identify the Letter G on the title page.

2) G is for Garbage Truck Printable Pack from Royal Baloo: Print any of the following printables from the link provided:
  • G is for Garbage Truck: Paste the Garbage Trucks onto the Letter G
  • Optional: Garbage Truck Puzzle. Put the numbers in order 1-10 to make a garbage truck.
  • Optional: Garbage Truck Shapes. Print two copies of the image below. Leave one copy alone and cut out the shapes of the second copy. Match the cut out shapes on the second copy to the first copy.
  • Optional: Garbage Stamping. Print the garbage truck and used a piece of scrunched paper (trash) dipped in paint to stamp the garbage truck.

3) Garbage Throw:
  • Throw scrunched newspaper or colored paper (as a color review) into the trash can.
  • Optional: Draw shapes, numbers or letters on a piece of newspaper and have your child identify the item, before scrunching the paper into a ball.
  • Optional: Draw shapes on colored construction paper and tape them on the ground. Have your child stand on one of the papers (identify the shape and color) and throw the scrunched ball into the trash can.

  • Numbers (we used wooden number pieces from a puzzle)
  • Pom Poms
  • Tongs or Tweezers
  • Play Garbage Can (you can substitute a plastic cup)
  • Optional: Add legos to build a landfill
  1. Have your child draw a number and use tweezers to add the same amount of pom poms into a play garbage can.
  2. Help your garbage man empty the garbage can into the garbage truck.
  3. Optional: Take all the garbage to the landfill.

5) Garbage Bag Windsock from Crayon Freckles:
  • Permanent Markers
  • Draw String Trash Bag
  1. Lay the bag out flat and have your child draw all over the trash bag. You may want to do this activity outside, as you'll need to use permanent markers.
  2. When your child is finished drawing, cut the bottom seam off of the trash bag.
  3. Slice strips up toward the top and hang outside.
