Italian Crusted Chicken with Garlic Alfredo Shells

As I was hunting for a perfect Alfredo sauce, I came upon this dish from The Recipe Critic. This dish is amazing, but the thing that makes it stand out is this delicious and creamy Alfredo sauce. It is packed full of flavor and doesn't loose it's flavor topped on noodles. I served this dish with New York Garlic Knots (found in the freezer isle) and they were extremely divine dipped in Alfredo sauce. Rating: 10/10 



Ingredients (Italian Crusted Chicken):
  • 3-4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, or 6 chicken tender strips
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup italian bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon parsley
Directions (Italian Crusted Chicken):

1) Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

2) In one shallow bowl, mix together melted butter and garlic powder. In a second shallow bowl, mix together the bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, oregano and parsley. 

3) Dip chicken in first bowl until fully coated with garlic butter. Then, dip the chicken in second bowl until fully coated with seasoning. Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until chicken is fully cooked.


Ingredients (The Best Alfredo):
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups whipping cream
  • 3 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese (we used the green can)
  • 8 oz. shell noodles
Directions (The Best Alfredo):

1) Cook shell noodles according to package directions.

2) Meanwhile, add butter, heavy whipping cream and cheese cheese to a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat and whisk until melted. Add the minced garlic, garlic powder, italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Continue to whisk until smooth. Add grated parmesan cheese.

3) Bring to a simmer and continue to cook for 3-5 minutes or until it starts to thicken. 


Note: We let everyone dish themselves. Add noodles, Alfredo sauce and top with chicken in a bowl. Don't forget a New York Breadstick or Garlic Knots to dip in the extra Alfredo sauce.
