Letter I: Ice Cream Art, Ice Cream File Folders, Ice Cream Parlor Pretend Play, Ice Cream Play Dough (Day 5)
1) Ice Cream Cone Art from The Measured Mom:
2) Ice Cream File Folders:
3) Ice Cream Shop: I pulled out our Cash Register, Ice Cream Set and stuffed animals for this activity. Each of the animals "ordered" ice cream. Easton asked each animal which flavor they wanted and told them how much it would be. He'd say "two dollars" often and I'd have him push the number two on his cash register. This activity was so much fun.
- Construction Paper
- Optional: Sprinkles - we will use these next time. Mix a little glue and water together. Paint the glue mixture onto the ice cream. Have you child sprinkle the sprinkles on the ice cream. Draw a letter I on the cone.
2) Ice Cream File Folders:
- Ice Cream Color Match from Itsy Bitsy Fun:
- Ice Cream Count & Match from Measured Mom:
- Ice Cream Counting from Totschooling: This printable includes numbers 1-10. We are going to use pom poms with magnets glued on the back to fill in the sprinkles.
4) Ice Cream Play Dough from Smart School House: Apparently this recipe scoops just like ice cream! We're excited to try it this year. You'll need:
- 1 Cup Pre-made Frosting
- 2 3/4 Powdered Sugar (approximately - slowly mix in, until the dough isn't sticky)
- Ice Cream Scoop & Cones
- Optional: Other play dough accessories
- Mix the frosting and powdered sugar with a mixer. Add enough powdered sugar to make sure the dough isn't sticky at all. If you add too much powdered sugar or the dough starts to dry out after time, add a little olive oil.
