Valentine's Day Art & Crafts (updated 2020)

Our favorite Valentine Art we did this year was Valentine Puffy Paint. It's this amazing four-ingredient paint that you mix up in the blender, pour into squeeze bottles, draw and dry in the microwave. It's low mess and my kids spend over an hour playing with this stuff every time I make it. You can click here to find out more: Valentine: Magic Puffy Paint.

In the past, we enjoyed these activities with little ones:

1) Heart Sponge Painting, Heart Tube Stamping or Heart Potato Stamping. These all work well when making Valentine Cards.

2) Conversation Heart Sensory Paint from Frogs and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails. Mix candy hearts and water together. Once the hearts dissolve, add a little flour to make thicker paint.

3) Glitter Puffy Paint from Frogs and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails. Mix together 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of salt and 1 cup of water. Add glitter and food coloring. Paint onto cardboard hearts.

4) Footprint Valentine Crafts from Crafty Morning. I dipped and stamped my 8-month old's feet this year to make a Valentine's Day card for our grandparents (picture on the right).

5) Valentine Robots: My sister came up with this idea and I loved how they turned out! She used floral foam (from the dollar store) wrapped in tinfoil for the robot bodies and decorated them with stickers, goggly eyes, pom poms, pipe cleaners, conversation heart candy, paperclips, and pony beads. She found all these items at the dollar store.

6) Secret Message Art: Write love notes with a white crayon on a piece of white card stock. Color over it with water color to reveal the secret message. This would be a lot of fun to do on a Scavenger Hunt of some sort.

7) Valentine's Day Crowns. You can decorate the hearts with glitter glue, stamps or markers. You could do different colors of hearts. These would be fun to wear to your Valentine Breakfast/Dinner.
