Prayer:

Intro: Today we are going to talk about "The Priesthood." Invite your child(ren) to say this word with you. The priesthood is God's power. He gives the priesthood to older boys and men to bless and help others. (We compared "power" to Elsa from Frozen. Just as Elsa has power to make snow and ice, boys/men with the priesthood have power to do certain things.) Let's talk about what things you can do with priesthood power...

Priesthood Keys & Locks Game: Before our FHE, I printed five picture examples of how men with the priesthood can use their priesthood power:

On the back of the pictures I taped a colored lock. I placed the matching colored keys in a brown paper sack. Make sure you use the same colors of locks as keys. (Print these colored locks & keys from Kids Activity Blog). When we were ready for the game, I placed the pictures face down on the ground and my kids took turns drawing one key from the sack. They found the matching colored lock, turned over the picture and we'd briefly discuss the picture. ie: "This is a picture of your baby blessings. Dad has the priesthood and power to give you a very special baby blessing. I remember dad blessed you to always have a keen mind."

Coloring Activity: Have your children color a Priesthood Flipbook. Read the short words on the printout as they're coloring. You can make it into a flip book by cutting the vertical lines and folding on the horizontal line. Hang on the fridge as a constant reminder of the priesthood during the week.

Song: Hold hands and walk around in a circle while you sing the words from Love is Spoken Here (Children's Songbook, 190): "Mine is a home, where every hour. Is blessed by the strength of priesthood power."

Testimony: Express your gratitude for the priesthood and how lucky we are to have a dad (or grandfather or neighbor) at home with the priesthood. Tell a personal experience of how the priesthood has blessed your own life.
