Here are our favorite action songs and rhymes for Letter H:

1) Humpty Dumpty.

• Option One: Build a wall with legos (try different heights!) on a cookie sheet. Sing this song as your child places Humpty Dumpty (a raw egg with a drawn on smile) on the wall. When you sing "had a great fall" have your child push the egg off the wall and watch it break open onto the cookie sheet. My three LOVED this idea from Preschool Alphabet.

Couldn't put Humpty together again.

• Option Two: Shake Humpty Dumpty egg shakers (plastic eggs filled with rice and taped closed with electrical tape - draw a face on the eggs) while singing this song. Have children drop the egg when cued in the song.

2) Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes.

• Action Song - touch the part of the body as you sing. Optional: Use different ways to sing this song. ie: slow, fast, stick your tongue out, spin, etc.

3) Hickory Dickory Dock.

• Action Song - use the actions below while singing this song.

4) The Hokey Pokey.

• Option One: Use a hula hoop to put different parts of the body into while singing this song. Have your child choose (or draw from these cards) different parts of the body to "put in."

And you turn yourself around.

• Option Two: Dance and follow along with your kids while watching this hokey pokey video.

• Option Three: Place Mr. Potato Head body part items into a brown paper sack. Have your child draw a body part and incorporate into the song.
