Here's a list of our favorite Letter C Books we checked out from the library this week:   Little Cloud by Eric Carle: This is one of my favorite books of our letter C booklist. It's about a little cloud that drifts away from the others and moves to form different shapes. My almost three loved telling me what the shapes looked like - one looks like a sheep, one looks like a clown, one looks like an airplane, etc. At the end of the book, the little cloud joins the others and it starts to rain. The Cow Loves Cookies by Karma Wilson: This book is a cute story about a cow that loves cookies. My boys (almost three and one) both love any book that includes farm animals, so this one was a winner for them. I found and loved these ideas from Preschool Alphabet . Her blog has some really interactive, creative and fun ways to teach your children. Here's what to do: 1) Read "Ten Apples Up On Top" by Doctor Seuss. 2) 10 Apple Bean Bags Up On Top from Preschool Alphabet: Cut out 2 Red Felt Circles, 1 Brown Felt Stem and 1 Green Felt Leaf.  Sandwich the stem and leaf between the red circles.  Hot glue (or sew) around the apple, leaving a 2-inch gap.  Fill with rice or beans. Finish gluing around the apple.  How to Play: When the characters add an apple on top, have your child add an apple and try balancing them. These bean bags can be used in a variety of ways! You can do a bean bag toss, try to shoot them through a hoop, use them through an obstacle course, counters, etc. 3)  10 Apple Stickers Up On Top from Preschool Alphabet:  Print a small picture of your toddler Glue it to the bottom of a sheet of paper. Have your preschool stack 10 apple stickers up on

I love being able to put a set of books on hold online and have them available for pick up in a few days. When I went to pick up these books, I called beforehand and the librarian agreed to meet me at the door. I would hand her my card and she would come back with my pile of books. This saved me from taking both boys (ages 2 & 1) out of their car seats, being anxious trying to watch them while I scanned my books, and not having a spare hand to hold my books. Thank you, librarian! The Bear Who Shared by Catherine Rayner: This book is about a bear who is waiting patiently for a special fruit to fall from a tree. However, a mouse and raccoon are waiting as well. When the fruit finally drops, the bear catches it and shares with his new friends. This book teaches sharing. Goldilocks and the Three Bears by Caralyn & Mark Buehner: We love the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. This version has a few little twists and we love the darling illustrations. Click the

Here are our favorite Letter A books! I put our library books on hold (online) a week before we use them and they're ready to pick up in a few days. My boys love going with me to pick up our library books. We usually do a library story time and play while we are there. Easton (25 months) is always willing to sit on my lap and read with me, but Connor (15 months) will rarely sit on my lap to read! So, breakfast and meal times have become my favorite and most successful times to read to both of them. Apple Farmer Annie by Monica Wellington: This book is about a farmer, named Annie, who owns an apple orchard. Children learn how Annie picks and sorts apples by color, uses them to make apple pie and apple sauce, and sells them at a market.  Ten Red Apples by Pat Hutchins: This book is about a farmer who has ten apples on his apple tree. One by one the apples get taken away by a farm animal. This book teaches farm animals, animal noises, numbers and an introduction to s

Letter X Painting (Tape Resist) : It's always fun finding new things to paint with! Today, we used a dish scrubber. Easton really enjoyed this craft and loved when we removed the tape and revealed a Letter X. Here's what you need: White Paper Masking Tape Dish Scrubber Washable Tempera Paint 1) Use masking tape to make a large Letter X on your paper. 2) Have your child use a dish scrubber to paint your project (first picture below). It helps to bring one color out at a time. Once your child is finished, wait for the paint to dry. 3) Once the paint is dry, carefully remove the masking tape to reveal a Letter X.  X Marks the Spot  Treasure Hunt: This activity took a little preparation, but was so much of fun. I put together a little treasure hunt with six clues, which lead to a special treat. Before giving Easton the first clue, I explained what a detective is and pulled out his special detective outfit I bought from the Dollar Store. He looked so adorable
