I often used the lesson below to teach new investigators about the Book of Mormon on my mission. It's a simple explanation of the Book of Mormon through pictures. The pictures are found in the front of the blue, hard/soft cover Book of Mormon. Prayer : Song : " Book of Mormon Stories " from The Children's Songbook page 118. Field Trip (Optional) : I told my two year old we were going to buy a very special item for him - that would be his very own. We loaded in the car and drove to Deseret Book together as a family. We bought my two his very own blue, hardcover Book of Mormon. Even though he can't read it yet, he'll see it on his bookshelf every day as a reminder of Jesus and The Book of Mormon. Letter V Craft : I printed a Letter V Printout  from Mom Junction and colored in all the dots with a white crayon. After Easton identified the letter we got to work! We used these  Homemade, Edible Finger Paints  from Repeat Crafter Me. (picture to come!) Veterinarian Pretend Play : This was another favorite activity of the week! Easton loves pretend play, so I knew this would be a lot of fun. After reading our vet books, he wanted to act out "Sally goes to the Vet". His favorite part was putting bandaids on his stuffed animals. We used this darling  animal checklist and badge  (I helped Easton fill them out) from play dough to plato. We used our doctor coat and doctor set that we got for Christmas.  The doctor glasses were killing me! Here's an inexpensive doctor set from Amazon that comes with the coat and hospital kit.

Volcano Video : I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for, but these were the best ones I could find:  Geography Lesson: What is a Volcano?  from Youtube. and  Volcanoes 101  from National Geographic. Volcano Craft : I love how this craft turned out! We used the Letter V for the initial lava coming out, and then glued on "smooshed" squares of tissue paper for the hot lava and cotton balls for the  clouds.  I found a  similar Volcano Craft  using crayons for the lava on Ashley Aymara. Volcano Sensory Bin : This was the highlight of our week! We used a cookie sheet for the base. Easton and his friends help mold old play dough around a large spice jar to make our volcano. They stuck play trees around the volcano, and the fun began! I filled the jar with baking soda and each child took a turn dumping a cup filled with vinegar and red food coloring into the volcano. Vegetable Craft : I found this idea on the   Letter V Crafts List   from the measured mom blog. I printed vegetables from a google "vegetable collage", cut them out and Easton helped glue them onto our Letter V. Some of the vegetables he hadn't heard of yet (whoops!), so he learned some new words today. Vegetable Printing : This idea is also from the   Letter V Crafts List   on the measured mom blog. I bought a few vegetables from the store with vegetable printing in mind. We used an orange pepper, broccoli, carrot, cauliflower and celery. Vegetable Pretend Play : I wrote numbers 1-10 on office stickers and stuck them on our set of  Ikea Vegetables . We pretended to be at the grocery store and Easton was the cashier. I found some vegetables to buy and had him identify the numbers and push them on our play cash register . This activity evolved into buying books and all sorts of things. It was a great number review!

Vase Craft : I found a very similar craft on the  Letter V Crafts List  from the Measured Mom blog. The vase is shaped as a Letter V to reinforce our letter this week. Easton helped me hole punch the flower color of his choice and glue on the stems and flowers. We used this  flower hole punch . Water the Flowers (Shape Review) : I found a similar activity using letters  on mom inspired life. I used sidewalk chalk to draw a Letter V for the vase and shapes for the flower. I would name a shape and Easton would "water" the matching shape flower. All the activities on my blog are meant as invitations for toddlers to learn and explore in their own way. After finishing this activity, Easton spent another 45-minutes outside watering rocks, grass, pine cones, dirt, etc. We had a lot of fun with our watering can today! Dyeing Flower Experiment : I have seen this science experiment all over Pinterest and have always wanted to try it! I finally had an excuse - Letter V

Vegetable Letter Garden : This was a fun way to review the alphabet as a whole! I had dirt (which I found at the Dollar Store) left over from our underground sensory bin last week. Easton learned about volcanoes and veterinarians today through song. He's been talking about volcanoes all day reminding me that lava is hot. Letter V Handprint Art (Vulture) : Easton learned about vultures today through craft! Handprint crafts will never get old to me, I love them. We are trying to recover from our  Saint Patrick's Day  activities last week! Easter in March threw me a curve ball this year. We spent most of our morning time on  A Week of Easter  this year, focusing on Jesus Christ and His resurrection. However, I just couldn't let Easter pass without doing a few bunny or egg activities, even if they were a week late. Here are some options below - one craft and one activity per day: Option One : 1) Craft: Paper Bag Shape Bunny . This is a darling craft and also reviews a few shapes - ovals (ears), circles (eyes/ nose/paws), heart (nose/mouth area), rectangles (whiskers), and domes (feet). You'll need a paper bag and some time to cut out the shapes shown in picture one. Easton and I reviewed the shapes together before gluing them onto our paper bag. 2) Activity: Feed the Bunny . I love this activity for so many different reasons. First, because it includes the craft we made earlier in the day, but mostly because of the variety o
