Letter G: G is for Garden Craft, Grow Grass/Flower Seeds, Build a Photo Garden, Garden Sensory Bin (Day 3)

1) G is for Garden from the Measured Mom:

  • Print a Block Letter G
  • Let your toddler stick garden stickers on your Letter G

2) Grow Grass or Flower Seeds:
  • Grass Seeds or Flower Seeds
  • Plastic Cup
  • Dirt (I found ours at the Dollar Store)
  • Spray Bottle
  • Black Marker
  1. Directions: Help your toddler pour dirt and seeds into a plastic cup. Write a Letter G on the cup and watch the grass grow throughout the week. Make sure to water the grass (try a spray bottle)!

2) Build a Photo Garden from Toddler Approved: Both my boys love looking at pictures of familiar faces, so I know they'll love this. You'll need:
  • Family Photos (print two of each for a matching game)
  • Circle Hole Punch
  • Colored Card Stock
  • Double Sided Tape
  • Optional: Laminate or use contact paper to preserve flowers

3) Garden Sensory Bin: We always love sensory bins, but this has been one of our favorite so far! Here's what you need:
  • Plastic Bin - I bought ours at Walmart
  • Dirt - I found a bag at the Dollar Store
  • Garden Play Set (see first picture below)
  • Black Beans and Green Lentils (or anything similar to use as seeds)
  • Pictures of Vegetables (print or color your own)
  • Popsicle Sticks
  • Tape
  1. Draw and color vegetables (or print them) and tape them onto popsicle sticks.
  2. Ideas for Play: Touch and feel the dirt in the sensory bin. Make holes in the dirt and plant seeds. Rake the soil. Place popsicle stick vegetables in the soil where the seeds were planted. Water and squirt the vegetables (talk about how important sun and water are for plants), etc..
