Buttermilk Pancakes with Buttermilk Syrup

I have always loved breakfast foods, and have eaten a lot of pancakes in my life. However, these are my (and my husbands!) absolute favorite homemade pancakes. Pair it with this heavenly buttermilk syrup recipe, and you're in for a real treat. Rating: 10/10



Ingredients (pancakes):

3 cups flour
3 tablespoons white sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups buttermilk
1/2 cup milk
3 eggs
1/3 cup butter, melted

Directions (pancakes):

1) In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients.
2) In a separate bowl, mix together the wet ingredients. Combine the wet and dry ingredients and mix together with a spoon. Do not over stir. The mixture should remain lumpy.
3) Prepare pancakes on a skillet or griddle.


Ingredients (syrup):

1 cube (1/2 cup) of butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Directions (syrup):

1) Heat butter, buttermilk, and sugar in a saucepan. Heat until boiling, stirring often. Boil for about one minute. Remove from heat.
2) Add vanilla and baking soda. Stir until combined.
