Chicken Teriyaki & Pineapple Sandwich

Image
I got this recipe from my Mother-in-Law. They are much better on a grill, but we use our Panini Maker until we own one. We absolutely love these! Ingredients: 8 slices of chicken - I like to use cutlets, so it's thinner meat 1 bottle Soy Vay 20-oz Island Teriyaki Marinade (see picture below) 1 Can Pineapple Slices 8 Pieces Swiss Cheese 8 Hamburger Buns Mayo Directions: 1) Place the chicken in a large ziplock bag and pour 3/4 bottle of Teriyaki Marinade over the chicken. Massage the chicken to make sure each piece is covered in marinade. Marinade chicken overnight or for a few hours in the fridge. 2) When you're ready to eat, cook the chicken on a BBQ. Add one sliced pineapple ring followed by a slice of swiss cheese on top of the chicken until the cheese melts. 3) We like to layer a bottom bun, mayo, chicken and a top bun to make a sandwich. We use the remaining 1/4 bottle of fresh marinade as a dipping sauce for our sandwiches. Makes 8 sandwiches...

Letter B: Bubble Art, Bouncing Bubbles, Sensory Bin, Giant Bubbles (Day 5)

Image
1) Bubble Art from Broogly : We want to do a similar idea, but use pipe cleaners instead of bubble wands. You'll need: Five Pipe Cleaners (form them into small, medium and large wands) Bubble Solution Food Coloring White Paper Form five pipe cleaners into " bubble wands" - make the circle at the bottom of the wand different sizes - small, medium, large. Pour bubble solution into five different bowls.  Add food coloring to each of the bowls. Dip pipe cleaner in the bubble solution and blow it onto a piece of white paper. NOTE: We tried these, but they didn't work very for us. We used liquid water color instead of food coloring, so maybe that's what made the difference? 2) Blow Chocolate Milk Bubbles from Preschool Alphabet: 3)  Bubbles Sensory Bin  from The Measured Mom: My two loves any type of sensory bin with water, and adding bubbles to the mix was an excellent addition. I like to bring our items out one at a time to allow fo...

1)  B is for Bird  from The Measured Mom: I love how our bird turned out. I showed my two where all the parts go, but he ultimately decided where to glue them on. You'll need: White, Blue and Orange Construction Paper Glue Feathers  Goggly Eye NOTE:  You can find all of these items at the Dollar Store 2)  Bird Feathers Activity  from Mama OT: We had a bunch of feathers left over from our craft, so we used them for a simple fine motor activity. "Uh oh! Our bird doesn't have any feathers! He might be getting cold. Can you add some to his body?" I want to add bird eyes and a beak to our colander. You'll need: Colander Feathers 3) Homemade Bird Feeder : My two was so excited to feed the birds breakfast! We hung our bird feeder on a tree branch right outside our window, and my two loved watching birds come and eat the seeds. Here's what you need: Pinecone (you could also use an empty toilet paper roll) String Peanut Butter Bird...

Letter P: Peacocks, Play Dough (Day 2)

Image
Coffee Filter Peacock : Of all of the crafts we've done the past six months, this one has been one of my very favorites. I was so excited about this craft, I wanted to do one myself. I bought coffee filters from the grocery store and we stamped blue, purple and green Do-a-Dot Markers all over the coffee filter. Then, we used a water spray bottle to make the dots bleed together. Once the coffee filter dried, we glued on our peacock. Click the title "Coffee Filter Peacock" for a detailed tutorial. Play Dough: Easton loves anything having to do with Play Dough! As we're working on letter P this week, play dough fits in well. Click here to see a list items to pair with play dough .  Of the list, we've tried Mr. Potato Head pieces, buttons, play kitchen utensils, and toy cars. I love watching Easton's creativity when we play with play dough. An hour goes by really quickly when we play with play dough. Alphabet/Number Stampers for Play Dough: I boug...

Letter B: Butterfly Craft, Butterfly Life Cycle Hat, Bug Hunt & Match, Paint Bug Rocks (Day 3)

Image
1) Butterfly Craft from Crystal & Comp.: I love contact paper and tissue paper crafts! My two only wanted to place a few tissue paper squares before he was "all done". I taped his finished butterfly on the window and love when the sun shines through each day. You can print a  free butterfly template  or you can cut out a butterfly shape from black construction paper. NOTE:  Sometimes I'll leave crafts our for my two to come back to later in the day. You'll need: Contact Paper  - I found ours at the Dollar Store! Tissue Paper in various colors, cut into 1 inch squares Butterfly Cut Out from Black Construction Paper Place your butterfly cut out on the sticky side of the contact paper (your letter B will look backwards, so it will face the correct way when hung on the window).  Let your child place tissue paper squares to fill in the wings.  Place the completed butterfly on a window. The first picture is from 2015 (age:just turned two) and t...

You can buy a less expensive set of  Counting Bears  from this link, but this set has five colors and...

Letter B: Bear & Band Aid Letter Match, Letter B Book, Alphabet Handprint Art (Bee), Letter B Songs (Day 1)

Image
1) Read 1-3 Books from the  Letter B Booklist . 2)  Band Aid Letter Matching Game  from Tot Schooling: My two loves pretending to be a doctor, so he especially loved being able to put bandaids (office stickers) on a hurt bear. This is a matching game, so children can match letters without actually knowing the letter yet. The bear pictured below has letters A-K, so I wrote letters A-K on the office stickers for my two to match. 3) Read  The Letter B Book  from The Measured Mom: My two loves these little books and enjoys going through them together. I love the Letter B on each page with a simple picture. There are eight pages to these books. Click the link to print. 4) Make an Alphabet Handprint Art (Bee) : I painted my two's entire hand yellow and then painted black stripes. I helped him stamp his hand on a piece of white paper and the result turned out really neat! Once the paint dried, I drew the wings and stinger with a black permanent mark...
