Letter H: Build Humpty Dumpty's Wall, H is for Humpty Dumpty, Humpty's Dumpty's Fall Activity, Humpty's Colored Hats Story (Day 5)

1) Build Humpty Dumpty's Wall  from Preschool Alphabet: Building Blocks Raw Eggs - Optional: Draw faces on the eggs to resemble Humpty Cookie Sheet or Container Build a high wall from building blocks - build the wall over a cookie sheet or some sort of container to catch poor Humpty. Count the blocks as you go. Watch the difference between Humpty cracking from a short wall and tall wall.  Sing Humpty Dumpty (from our Letter H Music Time) and when you say "Humpty Dumpty had a great fall", let your child roll Humpty off the wall. Letter F: Fishbowl Craft, Fishy Window Scene, Fish Learning Activities, Fishing at Home (Day 2)

1)  Fishbowl Craft  from Walking by the Way: I found this idea on the Letter F Crafts list on the Measured Mom blog. I knew we had to do it the second I saw it! Here's what you need: White Paper Black Marker Tempera Paint - Blue & Red Foam Brush Paintbrush Glue 1/2 cup of cornmeal Goggly Eye Use a black marker to draw a large fish bowl on a piece of white paper. Have your child use a foam brush to paint the entire paper blue. Let the paint dry overnight. Option: Use blue construction paper instead of painting the fish bowl. Paint your child's hand red and help him/her stamp hand in the fishbowl. In a small bowl, use a paintbrush to mix together 1 tablespoon elmer's glue and 1/3 cup water (this is an estimate) to form a paste. Paint the paste on the bottom of the fish bowl. Help your child dump cornmeal onto the wet paste. Move the paper from side to side until the paste is completely covered in cornmeal. Glue on the goggly eye. 2)  Fishy ...

Magnetic Christmas Sensory Bin : I bought a bunch of random Christmas items at the Dollar Store and used our  Magnetic Kit  for this sensory bin. Below is a list of all the items we used - feel free to be creative! The trick to sensory bins is to NOT bring everything out at once. Letter M: Magnet Painting, Magnetic Number Booklet, Shape Pattern Blocks, Is it Magnetic?, Magnetic Sensory Bin (Day 4)

1) Magnet Painting:  Squeeze a few colors or paint and a few magnetic items (bolt, marbles, etc.) onto the paper plate. Use a magnetic wand on the bottom of the place to move the magnets around. Optional: Once the paint has dried, cut out a letter M and glue it onto a piece of colored card stock. 2) Magnets Number Booklet from The Measured Mom:    3) Shape Pattern Blocks from Pre-Kinders: Print these darling animal shape pattern blocks and use these foam magnetic shapes to match. Talk about the shapes and colors as you go. 4) Is it Magnetic? :  Print " Is it Magnetic " from The Measured Mom or make your own chart. Place all the items on the chart in a brown paper bag. Have your child draw an item from the bag, test if it's magnetic with a magnetic wand and stamp whether it's magnetic or not with a dot marker .
