Letter W: Watermelon: Craft, File Folder (numbers), Watermelon Moon Sand

Image
Watermelon Craft : I found this  Watermelon Craft  on Counting Coconuts. I cut two letter W's - one red and one green out of construction paper. Easton dipped his finger in black tempera paint and made seeds on our red W (see first picture below). When the paint dried, we glued the red W onto the top of our green W, making our letters resemble a Watermelon. Then, we glued our watermelon onto a piece of white card stock (see second picture below). Watermelon File Folder : I printed and made our  Watermelon File Folder  from Preschool Printables. To make this more fun, I hid the watermelon pieces (with seeds) around the room. Easton found a watermelon, counted the seeds and placed it on the corresponding number. Watermelon Cloud Dough : I found a tutorial for  Watermelon Moon Sand  on Growing a Jeweled Rose. However, I bought the wrong kind of sand, so this didn't work for us! I improvised and decided to try a version of Watermelon Cloud Dough....

Letter O - Octopus: Craft, Dot Page, File Folder

Image
Octopus Craft : I found this idea on the Letter O Crafts list on the measured mom blog. I love crafts that include the letter we're working on during the week! Our octopus is pictured first. We glued on the letter O (head) and then I put eight lines of glue coming out from the head. At age 20 months, Easton did a great job gluing on the legs. I was planning on gluing on cheerios as tentacles on our octopus, but Easton wasn't up for the idea and I didn't push it. For a better idea, see the second picture below from the measured mom blog. Octopus Dot Page : I printed our  O is for Octopus  dot page from the measured mom blog. We used Do-a-Dot Markers to stamp the page, but we also love using office stickers and power magnets /cookie sheet to fill in the dots.  Octopus File Folder : I printed our  Octopus File Folder  to review colors and color matching. I printed and laminated our set and used velcro to attach the pieces, although this isn't ne...

1) Alphabet Hearts File Folder from  file folder fun : I'm a little obsessed with file folders! The dog shape clip art is adorable. Easton will love these! 4) Fix the Broken Heart (Shapes): I cut hearts out from different colored foam sheets (another dollar store purchase) and drew a shape on each one. Then, I cut the heart in half. I put the left half of the hearts on our table and hid the right half of the hearts around the room. When Easton found a right half heart in the room, he brought it over to the table and found it's match. Then, he identified the shape. 5) Find the Hearts (Shapes):  I also cut out a set of hearts (fro...

Each of the animals "ordered" ice cream. Easton asked each animal which flavor they wanted and told them how much it would be. He'd say "two dollars" often and I'd have him push the number two on his cash register. This activity was so much fun. 4)  Ice...
