"Ten Apples Up On Top" - Book & Activities
I found and loved these ideas from Preschool Alphabet. Her blog has some really interactive, creative and fun ways to teach your children. Here's what to do:
1) Read "Ten Apples Up On Top" by Doctor Seuss.
2) 10 Apple Bean Bags Up On Top from Preschool Alphabet:
1) Read "Ten Apples Up On Top" by Doctor Seuss.
2) 10 Apple Bean Bags Up On Top from Preschool Alphabet:
- Cut out 2 Red Felt Circles, 1 Brown Felt Stem and 1 Green Felt Leaf.
- Sandwich the stem and leaf between the red circles.
- Hot glue (or sew) around the apple, leaving a 2-inch gap.
- Fill with rice or beans. Finish gluing around the apple.
- How to Play: When the characters add an apple on top, have your child add an apple and try balancing them. These bean bags can be used in a variety of ways! You can do a bean bag toss, try to shoot them through a hoop, use them through an obstacle course, counters, etc.
3) 10 Apple Stickers Up On Top from Preschool Alphabet:
- Print a small picture of your toddler
- Glue it to the bottom of a sheet of paper.
- Have your preschool stack 10 apple stickers up on top of their head.
- Count the apples 1-10
