Week 3: Gifts to Jesus

Morning Meeting - Read and Summarize Matthew 2:1-12 (The Wisemen Visit Jesus). Use the Nativity Flannel Board. Talk about the three gifts the Wisemen brought Jesus. Ask, "Do you think we can give gifts to Jesus? How?" Talk about how helping others and being kind are wonderful gifts we can give to Jesus. Write or draw your ideas on a piece of paper.

My five and three came up with these ideas on their own.

Family Home Evening:

1) Summarize the story in "We are His Hands" from Elder Uchtdorf's Conference Talk. Show the picture below while telling the story. Talk about how our hands can help other people. Hang this on the fridge as a reminder of the lesson.

2) Gifts to Jesus: Review the story of the Wisemen from this morning and have the kids tell dad about different ways we can give gifts to Jesus. Choose one "gift to Jesus" and do it together as a family tonight. Write it down on one of these Present Cards. We chose to make cookies and drop them off to friends. Throughout the week, add other "gifts to Jesus" into the box. Review all the presents we gave to Jesus at the end of the week.
