1) Letter J Jelly Fish Hunt  from The Measured Mom: I love these worksheets. You can print only uppercase letters, only lowercase letters, or a combination of both. Use bingo chips, chocolate chips or  Do-a-Dot Markers  to stamp all the J's.  2) Jelly Fish Craft Options: J is for Jelly Fish  from The Measured Mom: Draw or print a jelly fish outline (from link provided) and paint with a sponge paint brush. After the paint dries, glue on googly eyes and glue the jelly fish onto a large Letter J. Paper Bag Jelly Fish from No Time for Flashcards: Paint a paper bag with different colors of paint and add sparkles if you'd like. Once the paint dries, glue on googly eyes and cut long slits into the bottom of the paper bag making tentacles. 3) Make a Pet Jelly Fish  from Bhoom Play: This is one of those activities that mom does most of the prep work. Easton enjoyed playing with the finished project though. He loved turning the bottle upsi...

Letter J: J is for Jewels Craft, Fruit Loop Watch, Jewels & Jello Excavation (Day 3)

Image
1) J is for Jewels  from The Measured Mom: Write a block letter J on a piece of paper and have your child identify the letter.  Easton chose a jewel to use, I put glue on the back of it and Easton chose where to place the jewel. Next time, we will use larger jewels.  2) Fruit Loop Watch or Bracelet : Have your child practice his/her find motor skills by stringing fruit loops (or beads) onto a pipe cleaner.  3) Jewels & Jello Excavation : Since we're learning about Letter J this week, we had to incorporate Jello! I'm not sure exactly how we'll do this, but any way it will be fun!  Jello (prepared according to box directions) We'll either use a glass pan, jelly roll pan or an ice cube tray to have the jello set in. Play Jewelry (dollar store jewelry, coins, beads, etc.) Excavating Tools: fork, spoon, spatula, measuring cups, tweezers, etc. It would be fun to add baking soda to the jello or pretend you're on a treasure hunt chest to fi...

Letter J: J is for Jelly Bean Craft, Jelly Bean Painting, Jelly Beans: Size Order, Numbers, Colors, Shapes (Day 2)

Image
Choose one of the craft options below: 1a) J is for Jelly Bean : Easton loved this craft - mostly because it involves a squirt bottle! White Paper Jelly Beans Squirt Bottle  Draw a Letter J on a piece of white card stock. Have your child place Jelly Beans all over the paper.  Use a squirt bottle and spray all the jelly beans. After a little bit of time, the jelly beans color wore off onto our paper.  After our project dried, I cut out the Letter J and glued it onto black paper.  Option: Instead of using water and a squirt bottle, try gluing the jelly beans onto your Letter J. 1b) Jelly Bean Color Sort & Painting:  Place a handful of jelly beans and three colored cups onto your art table. Sort the jelly beans into their correct colors. Add water to the container.  Let the jelly beans sit for a minute or two, so the jelly beans have plenty of time to color the water. Paint with jelly bean water! 2) The next few ideas are...
