The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin

Additional October FHE: Teach your children the importance of being kind to others that are different. Read Spookley The Square Pumpkin and do this simple sponge painting craft. You can even watch the movie on Netflix and make pumpkin pancakes if you want to make a night out of it. We talked a lot this week about people being different from us and how it’s okay to be different. Everyone has special gifts and talents, regardless of their size, abilities and faith. We are all children of God. We also talked about how to stick up for people and what to do if people point out our differences. My six is noticing that he’s a “small six” and we talked about his gifts and all the cool things you can do being on the smaller end. Everyone is special and great, just the way they are.
