Week 24: The Sacrament
We are doing things a little differently now!
I am still planning on doing a blog post with pictures, but the PDF file includes a lesson plan now. The writing in pink are prompts for a parent to use and everything is included there - including a song and recipe for a treat. Here's a preview of the lesson plan..
Morning Meeting: The Last Supper. Hold up the picture and read verses in Luke about the Last Supper.
FHE:
1) Review morning meeting with dad.
2) Sacrament Book. Children go through pictures and learn about symbolism of the sacrament (how they relate to Jesus) and stories of Jesus. The pictures/stories are the perfect size to cut out (optional: double sided printing) and put into a 4x6 photo album. I purchased two albums on Amazon for $8 and my kids helped me assemble the book. You can also simply staple the photos together into a book. Place the book in your church bag and pull it out each week during the sacrament. I really love this idea, because children love things that they "make" themselves and it really helps them "remember" Jesus during the sacrament.
3) Reverent Mr. Potato Head. Children learn how to be reverent with a Mr. Potato head game. Place all the body parts in a bag. Pull them out one at a time and review how that part of the body is reverent during the sacrament.
4) Treat: Banana Bread.
