Egg Hunt Ideas

Glowing Egg Hunt: All you need for this egg hunt are large plastic eggs and bracelet glow sticks - which can both be bought at the dollar store. The smaller the glow stick the better. I had a little bit of a hard time folding my glow sticks enough to fit inside the eggs. I had to tape a few eggs shut, but it did the trick. My three LOVED this activity. We did our glowing egg hunt indoors, but it would be fun to do outdoors if the weather was nice enough. After finding all the glowing eggs, add them in the tub for another fun activity!

Flashlight Egg Hunt: If you don't have the time to buy glow sticks, hide Easter eggs around the house or yard and use a flashlight to find the eggs! The picture below is from a google website.

Easter Egg Lunch Hunt from Glue Sticks:

Puzzle Egg Hunt. Place puzzle pieces inside of the eggs. Find the eggs and put the puzzle together. You could make this religious. Click to print the Resurrection Puzzle.

Money Egg Hunt. Growing up, my dad would put money inside of Easter eggs. You've never seen four kids run so fast. This year, I want to do a "Dad Egg Hunt" where the dads race to collect the most eggs. The winner will receive $20.

Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt. My husband will never be too old for a good scavenger hunt.

Action Card Egg Hunt from Teach 123 School: Put the action strips inside plastic Easter Eggs and hide them around the house. When an egg is found, have child to the action inside.

Simple Letter Egg Hunt: I bought a bag of small Easter eggs from the Dollar Store and wrote letters A-Z on them with Permanent Marker. I hid them around the house. When my three found an egg, he would identify the letter and put it in his basket. When he found the last egg - Letter Z - there were two chocolate eggs inside for him!

Hatching Letters: Alphabet Scavenger Hunt from School Time Snippets: This egg hunt is similar to the one above, other than the letters are inside the eggs. I almost always see plastic letters at the Dollar Store that would be perfect for this activity. Once the letter is found, match it to the alphabet printout.

Easter Egg Shape Hunt from Little Family Fun: This would be such a fun way to review shapes. Instead of cutting all the shapes out from foam, you could use felt shape stickers inside the eggs to save on time.

Piñata Eggs. Instead of filling a piñata with candy, we're going to fill it with Easter eggs. Each egg will have a little trinket (bunny crayon, bunny balloon, bunny stamp, etc.) from the Dollar Store.
